Want to keep your mind sharp? Try this Alzheimer’s Prevention Juice

Celery

We have all heard about the devastating effects of Alzheimer’s Disease – memory loss, cognition becomes significantly reduced and your overall brain function slowly shuts down. This terrifying disorder affects mostly older people, and more than 5 million Americans currently live with the disease. Someone is diagnosed with the disease nearly every 60 seconds. Perhaps the saddest thing is that it is currently the sixth leading cause of death in the US, taking about 500,000 lives a year. 1 in 3 seniors will die with some kind of dementia.

But you know how here at Heroic Health & Well-Being, we are always all about prevention… and luckily, there is a juice that is super healthy, pretty darn tasty and very effective for keeping the mind sharp. One Cornell University study found that the quercetin in apples protected the brain cells of mice from free radical damage that potentially leads to Alzheimer’s. Additionally, this juice can help with asthma symptoms, protecting your bones as you age, and preventing some types of cancer.

It’s quite simple to make this juice – all you need is 2 oranges, 2 large celery stalks and about 5 apples. Make sure that you drink it right away though, as the more time that elapses after juicing, the more the nutrients will begin to degrade.
