Heroic Health & Well-Being is all about helping you to figure out your goals and then plan a path to take to get there.  We use a variety of training methods in every session to ensure an enjoyable and effective workout.  Each client is assigned a fitness plan that goes over several components of fitness and health which is tailored to their specific and individual body.  Because of this, no two programs are the same.

Our staff are as unique as we are.  Our head trainer, Sean, is genuinely interested in learning about you and what you want to get out of your workouts.  He puts his utmost effort into designing each workout to meet your individual requirements and goals.  With every client, we develop a relationship that is built on trust and support.

During the first meeting, Sean will get to know you: your likes, dislikes, exercise and health history, and good and bad habits.  By building this relationship, we can better understand how to get the best out of you.

It is our goal to pass on our expertise so that it will enable you to make lasting lifestyle changes that will allow you to achieve your full potential in multiple areas of your life.  We will teach you about proper technique and training strategies.  We will be that added motivation to get you from average to extraordinarily heroic.

We use space at a few local gyms to give people options, but also have some portable equipment we can bring to you

The gyms that we use are fully stocked and have any and all of the equipment needed to get in a great workout. If the gym scene isn’t for you, we also have some portable equipment we can bring to your home

 

The Equipment   

We use a wide variety of equipment at Heroic Health, so that your muscles will not adapt to the same old exercises and your mind stays fresh. We use equipment such as medicine balls, jump ropes, boxing gloves and pads, kettle bells, resistance bands, free weights, plyometrics and other goodies to keep your body guessing. This will ensure your workout is effective and fun and as you sweat up a storm, your body will release those awesome endorphins that will make you energized, happy and craving the next workout.

When you work out with us, every session is unique so that your muscles never know what to expect. This will help them be shocked into change. When you continue to do only the same exercises, your muscles often adapt, thus preventing change from occurring. All the training methods we use are selected because they offer the most effective and functional approach to weight loss and fitness improvement.

  • Our Weight Loss Program

At Heroic Health, we provide a basic nutritional consulting service that will work hand in hand with your training program.

While some diet programs encourage an all-or-nothing approach to nutrition, at Heroic Health we promote a balanced, sustainable diet. You should be eating lean meats, fruits, vegetables and grains (whole wheat). Whole foods will not only help you shed pounds but more importantly, they are a major part of staying healthy and providing energy for our demanding workouts.

Our Weight-Loss Program is custom designed for each individual.  The nutritional guidelines and workout regime that you are assigned is uniquely tailored to you and your body’s needs.  We maximize effectiveness by updating your program every few weeks.

  • Tone and Sculpt

Let us clarify one common misconception about weight training: YOU CANNOT SPOT REDUCE FAT! Doing a million crunches will not give you six pack abs. In order to get that toned, sculpted look we must first eliminate enough fat to give you a body fat percentage that will allow the muscles that you already have be seen. The less fat you have means the more sculpted you will look.

With our Tone and Sculpt Program, you will engage in exercises based around the principles of yoga and pilates, which will lengthen and stretch out your muscles and overall body.

  • Core Stability

While most people think the sole purpose of your abs are to look good, the truth is that the core muscles are also very important in preventing those nagging aches and pains. Symptoms of poor core stability include back aches, headaches and problems with balance.

Your core is essential in holding up your spine when you walk, sit, bend, and lift. When you are weak in this area, your body will try to compensate by using other muscles, which will lead to injury and an imbalance in your body. Doing crunches alone are not sufficient, because they only work your upper abs. Your core is actually made up of four different muscles: the obliques, lower back, transverse abdominus, and rectus abdominus. In every program that we offer, there will be a core stability element, because this is important in preventing injury.

Our Core Stability Program is designed to blast your core muscle groups to get them strong enough to support you the way they’re supposed to.

  • Boxing

Boxing can improve your health and will help give you a physically fit body. This is a fantastic way for you to have a stronger body while gaining confidence. Many people see positive results from boxing training. You may build stronger and more defined arms and legs. They also help you to gain a sense of inner strength and emotional balance.

Cardio boxing training and the innovative variations of the sparring jabs, power punches, defense and fitness blend all of the aerobics exercises. In our Boxing Program, you will learn the proper execution of the punch and kick combinations for a more intensive workout that can help you become stronger and more confident. Moreover, boxing training will improve your speed, resistance and strength. Flexibility and the reflexes of the muscles are enhanced. Repetitive motions of the arms by sparring and jogging while you punch helps your arms and legs gain strength and power.

  • Plyometrics

Plyometrics is a type of exercise training designed to produce fast, powerful movements, and improve the functions of the nervous system. It uses nothing but your own body weight. Plyometric movements, in which a muscle is loaded and then contracted in rapid sequence, use the strength, elasticity and innervation of muscle and surrounding tissue to jump higher, run faster or throw farther, depending upon the desired training goal.

At Heroic Health, we use our Plyometrics Program as a way to get your heart elevated in between resistance training sets. This will allow you to burn more calories without affecting your strength performance.

  • Functional Training

Functional training is a classification of exercise which involves training the body for the activities performed in daily life. The purpose of functional training is to develop your muscles in a way that will actually benefit your day-to-day life and activities. This is achieved by performing exercises that mimic everyday actions.

In our Functional Training Program, our trainers use these types of exercises by recruiting both your core and your entire body at the same time.  This will improve your everyday productivity and functionality.

  • Expecting & New Mother program

For expecting mothers, the joy of pregnancy can be both fulfilling and stressful. For women who wish to maintain or improve their fitness during this time, we offer a program that can help them to better manage their changing body structure through the trimesters. It is common knowledge that a higher level of healthy living can make both the pregnancy and delivery less difficult of the mother and can even help with the baby’s development.

Also, for mothers who have just given birth, the desire to lose the weight that was gained during pregnancy is usually the number one priority. Part of our Expecting & New Mother Program will help these new mothers regain or improve their former body shape.

  • Specialized Athletic Development

For many high school or college/university students, the joy of sports remains very popular in today’s youth. Many have had dreams of playing in the big leagues (some of us have been lucky enough to fulfill them!).

For athletes playing in school or community leagues, we have a program that is geared towards developing specific sport-related skills and muscles or fitness aspects that are needed to succeed in their chosen sport or activity.  Our Specialized Athletic Development Program is catered toward working out those sport-specific muscle groups to get you playing at the top of your game.
